Bangor Breakfast Rotary

Who are we?
Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peach in the world.

The Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary (BABR) Club – one of the two Rotary clubs in Bangor – was chartered in 1989 and has enjoyed substantial growth and tremendous accomplishments in its 20-year history.
About Interact Leaders Club

The Interact leaders Club is a joint venture of the Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary club and the Bangor Y. It is an officially chartered club with Interact, Rotary’s program for teens. The word Interact stands for INTERNATIONAL ACTIONS. Interact now has more than 233,000 members in over 10,000 clubs in 118 countries around the world.

The Bangor Interact Leaders Club, now in its seventh year, has members who come from all high schools in the greater Bangor area. Members of the Club and the Breakfast Rotary regularly attend each other’s meetings and learn from the other.

Each year the club has worked on several projects for their community and one with an international focus. The Integrators have started a Battle of the Bands to raise money for their projects and this past year sponsored a fashion show that took place in May. They have worked on food baskets for families at the holiday time; they provided art supplies to a small school in Aroostook County; most recently they worked to raise funds to support the Global Fund for Project Red, which benefits HIV / Aids work in Africa.

Interact Leaders Club is not all work, however. Meetings focus on a combination of club business and fun team building experiences under the direction of the club’s advisors. For further information about Interact Leaders Club, please contact the Bangor Y (941-2808).
