Program Information:

The Brewer High School Jazz Program includes a large ensemble and several jazz combos. Students audition for the large ensemble in both the spring and fall. This group rehearses every-other day from 7:35am to 8:50am as a credited class. There are currently 28 students part of the ensemble and all students are required to play in the concert band as well. The group is exposed to many different styles of jazz ranging from Glen Miller and Count Basie to Gordon Goodwin and Maynard Ferguson. The band has a long reputation as being fun and entertaining.


Brady Harris:

Brady Harris has been in the Brewer School System since 1993. He currently conducts the high school concert band, jazz ensemble, 2 jazz combos, 2 rock bands, and a jazz rock band that performs for athletic activities. In addition, he teaches music theory and digital audio. Mr. Harris also serves as the commander of the 195th Army Band located in Bangor, Maine. He has been a member of the Maine Army National Guard for over 22 years and has been the unit commander since 2004.

Mr. Harris resides in Brewer with his two children Christopher, Robben, and his wife Heather.
